| While outright gifts provide
valuable support for current programs, Planned Gifts provide
substantial support for future programs. This form of giving
recognizes that the future of The Futures Foundation is, in
many ways, connected to the generosity of its closest supporters.
Planned Gifts may be made in the form of wills, trusts, or
life insurance.
Wills
Giving through your will is an effective and desirable way
of directing the distribution of your estate to the individuals
and organizations that have been important to you during your
lifetime. Bequests may be in the form of cash or other property,
may be for a specified amount or a percentage of your estate,
or may be the remainder of your estate after all other bequests
and obligations have been satisfied.
Your bequest can be in the body of your will, or it may be
a codicil or amendment. It must, however, be done in consultation
with your attorney or tax advisor.
Another benefit of your gift will be the permanent establishment
of your legacy at The Futures Foundation.
Life Insurance
Life insurance makes an excellent charitable gift. You may
make a gift to The Futures Foundation through an existing
life insurance policy. By naming The Futures Foundation as
the primary beneficiary of such a policy, you retain ownership
and still have access to the cash value.
However, if you desire an immediate tax benefit, you may name
The Futures Foundation owner and beneficiary of the policy
and receive an income tax deduction for the cash value of
the policy and for any future premium payments.
Charitable Remainder Trust
A Charitable Remainder Trust may be established to support
The Futures Foundation and MORC, Inc.'s programs, while providing
income for the duration of your life. The trust may be funded
with cash, securities, or other assets. By establishing a
trust, capital gains tax can be avoided or deferred, and an
income tax deduction is available to the donor. Upon termination
of the trust, assets remaining in the trust go to The Futures
Foundation.
